Our virtual ICU program starts with our critical care expertise, which is supported by cutting-edge telemedicine technology. Combining clinical management software with patient data and real-time video feeds, the technology enables 24/7 remote monitoring of critically ill patients. The technology also helps hospitals achieve compliance with evidence-based care practices, a key part of the program.

This eICU® technology, developed by VISICU to address the intensivist shortage, consists of remote care tools like cameras and videoconferencing that connect Advanced ICU Care's physicians and nurses with patients, families, and onsite clinicians. The technology also includes the eCareManager™ software program that provides a dashboard view of key patient information such as vital signs, physiologic data, medications, lab results and more ― giving remote clinicians the data they need to provide patient care. The technology also allows for a mobile solution in the eCareMobile unit, which is a movable version of a virtual ICU workstation.
Using the virtual ICU technology's automated reminders and decision support tools, along with seamless care between remote and bedside staff, best practice standards in areas like glucose control, sepsis management and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) have been realized.
Advanced ICU Care's project management team manages the full implementation of the system, ensuring its integration with clients' existing systems. The technology can work with all major electronic health record programs and also can work with a hospital that does not have an electronic health record capability.
