Mary Jo Gorman

Mary Jo Gorman, MD, MBA – Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Gorman brings more than 20 years of clinical, healthcare executive management and entrepreneurial experience to her role as chief executive officer. Previously, she served as chief medical officer for IPC-The Hospitalist Company.  She also founded and serves as president of Critical Care Services, Inc., providing around-the-clock intensivist services in-house at two community hospitals. Dr. Gorman also established Inpatient Care Group, the first hospitalist practice in St. Louis, which later merged with IPC. She has practiced as an intensivist and a hospitalist, and has held numerous positions at SSM - DePaul Health Center, Bridgeton, Missouri, including chair of the department of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Gorman received an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business, her doctorate of medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Ill, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from St. Louis University. She is past president of the Society of Hospital Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, the American Medical Association, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She obtained her board certifications in Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine.

   
   
David M. Schopp

David N. Schopp, MHA – President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Schopp has more than 25 years of experience as a health care executive working with physicians, hospitals, multi-hospital systems, and insurers. Most recently he was an executive in the corporate office of Ascension Health, one of the largest multi-hospital systems in the country. Mr. Schopp has consulted to numerous health care organizations across the country providing strategic collaboration as well as financial and operations support. His accomplishments include initiatives related to performance improvement, revenue enhancement, management and Board development and education, and new business development. Mr. Schopp also led the national development and acquisition program, which included managing multiple start-up businesses, of a Fortune 500 health care company.

He holds a master’s degree in health administration from Washington University in St. Louis, a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, and the Board of Vincentian Service Corps.

   
   
Isabelle C. Kopec, MD, FACP, FCCP

Isabelle C. Kopec, MD, FACP, FCCP – Vice President – Clinical Services

Dr. Kopec has had a long career managing physician performance and staffing. She has led a number of quality improvement initiatives and cost-savings projects in the ICU setting that have led to award-winning performance at her facility. Dr. Kopec is chair of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at SSM - DePaul Health Center, Bridgeton, Missouri. She is a full-time practicing intensivist.

Dr. Kopec received her medical degree from St. George’s University, West Indies, and completed her residency at  SUNY Health Systems, and her fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York.  She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

   
   
Scott Turner

Scott Turner, MBA - Vice President - Sales and Marketing

Mr. Turner possesses more than 26 years of progressive sales, marketing and management experience serving clients across a number of markets, including healthcare, financial services, consumer products and technology.  Most recently, he was vice president of national accounts for Bowe Bell+Howell, a provider of document processing and mailing software solutions.

He holds an MBA from Washington University’s John M. Olin School of Business, where he serves on the Alumni Board of Directors.

   
   

Francis Ntimba, MD, FCCP - Intensivist and eICU Medical Director

Dr. Ntimba is a practicing intensivist, board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Ntimba worked as an attending in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Beth Israel Medicine Center and as an instructor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.

He received his medical degree from Makerere University Medical School in Kampala, Uganda in 1991. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in 1997 and his Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Medicine Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, New York in 2000.

   
   

Gary Anderson, MHA, RN, FACHE - Director of Operations

Mr. Anderson has extensive experience in managing complex health care projects. Most recently, he was vice president of hospitalist practice operations for Inpatient Management, Inc., a private hospitalist company. Before that, Anderson served as interim chief nursing executive and director of neurosciences, orthopedic and rehabilitation services for St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis. Other career highlights include executive director of the Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center and director of patient care and program director for neuroscience at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Anderson holds a master's of health administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia; a bachelor's degree in nursing from Webster University in St. Louis; and a nursing diploma from St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis. He is a registered nurse in Missouri and a Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

   

Pat Michaels, MSN, RN – Director of Clinical Services

With 30 years experience in the healthcare industry, Ms. Michaels is an experienced patient care administrator and consultant. Prior to joining Advanced ICU Care, Michaels was a director in the healthcare advisory practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she assisted clients in all areas of operations improvement, quality management, growth strategies and physician relationship development.  Earlier in her career, she served as director of critical care/emergency services at DePaul Health Center and also held management and staff nurse positions at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Michaels holds a master’s of nursing administration and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Louis University in St. Louis, and a nursing diploma from Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis.  She is a registered nurse in Missouri. 

   

Mikhail Averbukh – Director – Information Technology 

Mr. Averbukh has 10 years of information technology experience, serving a wide variety of corporations in industries such as healthcare, financial services and agriculture. Before joining Advanced ICU Care, he was an information technology manager for Paramount Mortgage Company and McBride & Sons Mortgage Company. Earlier in his career, he was an IT consultant for several Fortune 500 companies.

Averbukh received his master’s degree in information management from Washington University, a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a bachelor’s degree from Gorky State Technical University in Gorky, Russia.
