Our Clinical Staff

Advanced ICU Care's Virtual ICU Center in St. Louis is staffed by experienced, board certified intensivists, critical care nurse practitioners and seasoned critical care nurses who work in collaboration with each client hospital's clinical staff.

For bedside physicians at our client hospitals, Advanced ICU Care's intensivists bring preservation of the local physician's central role, reliable implementation of decisions and support for new quality initiatives. With 24/7 support and care plan execution, this also means fewer night calls/returns.

Our intensivists, averaging 10 years of experience, have shared their expertise in critical care medicine and ICU safety and efficiency at national patient safety forums and industry conferences far and wide. Along with medical leadership at our client hospitals, they also have presented nationally on the improved patient outcomes of the virtual ICU program. They are actively involved in professional healthcare organizations such as Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians, American Society of Physician Executives, and others. All care for ICU patients at the bedside, in addition to their time spent in the virtual ICU center.

Each physician is licensed in those states where Advanced ICU Care practices, and each is privileged and credentialed at every one of our client hospitals. Additionally, Advanced ICU Care credentials and privileges each physician independently.

Advanced ICU Care intensivists are:

  • Critical care fellowship trained and board certified, with an average of 10 years of experience in critical care medicine
  • Experienced in treating medical, surgical and trauma patients both at the bedside and through telemedicine
  • Licensed in all states in which Advanced ICU Care practices
  • Privileged and credentialed at each hospital
  • Working in area hospital ICUs as well as in the virtual ICU center to keep bedside skills fresh

Advanced ICU Care critical care nurse practitioners and nurses:

  • Have an average of 12 years of experience in critical care nursing (nurses)
  • Provide top-notch clinical and critical thinking skills, as well as ongoing guidance and support for client hospitals' local bedside nurses
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and expertise in critical care medicine; most hold their CCRN certifications
  • Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice
