Advanced ICU Care Appoints C. Thomas Smith as Board Member

ST. LOUIS (July 11, 2007) - Advanced ICU Care®, a company connecting critical care physicians (intensivists) and nurses to hospital ICU patients using telemedicine technology, today announced that it has added C. Thomas Smith to its board of directors.

With more than 30 years experience in healthcare administration, Smith currently serves on the boards of several healthcare companies. Until retirement in 2003, Smith served as president and chief executive officer of VHA Inc., a national healthcare provider alliance of more than 2,400 organizations. Previously, Smith was president and chief executive officer of Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut and Yale-New Haven Health Services Corp. Earlier in his career, he held administrative positions at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Center in Minneapolis and Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Among many other career accomplishments and appointments, Smith served as chairman of the American Hospital Association and has earned many prestigious honors within the healthcare industry.

Joining Smith on Advanced ICU Care's board are Mary Jo Gorman, M.D.; David Schopp, Advanced ICU Care president and COO; Tim Peterson, managing partner of Arboretum Ventures; and Bruce Quade, managing director at Catalyst Capital Management.
