St. Louis, MO (February 6, 2007) - Advanced ICU Care announced today that it has named Rye Nelson as Southwestern Region Sales Director. A medical service company, Advanced ICU Care delivers critical care medicine physicians (intensivists) and nurses to patients in hospital intensive care units (ICUs) through telemedicine technology.
Nelson joins the company's sales team in marketing Advanced ICU Care's critical care medicine program to community hospitals throughout the Midwest as well as the southwestern and western United States. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Nelson will lead all sales-related initiatives and business development activities for the company in the southwestern region.

"Having lived and worked in the Southwest for a number of years, he will be instrumental in helping us to deliver our program to hospital ICU patients in the southwestern U.S., bringing this life-saving care model to more critically ill patients."
Nelson has led sales teams and consistently delivered superior sales results for medical device companies spanning cardiology, orthopedic, ophthalmology and vascular surgery fields. Most recently, Nelson served as an account executive with GE Healthcare and CV Ultrasound, focusing on cardiovascular ultrasound products. Before that, he was territory sales manager for Vasomedical, Inc., providing non-invasive equipment used for the treatment of congestive heart failure. Nelson also spent seven years as a sales representative for Protocol Systems, delivering networked central monitoring systems and work stations. He began his career as a field marketing specialist at W.L. Gore & Associates and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
The telemedicine technology platform utilized by Advanced ICU Care combines software with remote-care tools - including patient data and video feeds - to allow intensivists to remotely care for patients in multiple locations, thousands of miles away. Advanced ICU Care is currently providing intensivist and critical care nursing care to as many as 72 ICU patients in three hospitals across the country.
